GMW Spitbraai is a fully licensed catering business founded by Garcia Gabin in 2017. Garcia, who is the Director and head chef of GMW Spitbraai, utilized 30 years a steel fabrication experience, modified a spit design and manufactured his own Spitbraai’s.

Initially, the spitbraai’s were hired out; there was a demand for a full on catering service which resulted in the company venturing into catering from 2018. The business started off with two spitbraai’s and now has four gas operated spitbraai’s.

Our menu, which is simple and satisfying, is intentionally built around our tender lamb. GMW Spitbraai focuses on giving customers an authentic South African spitbraai experience. With the help of our signature lamb basting, we have a key ingredient that ensures succulent and tender lamb all the time every time.

Our spitbraais are designed to operate in any environment, indoor, outdoor, and the most confined spaces without any emission of harmful smoke. GMW Spitbraai prides itself on ensuring customer satisfaction, a trait which was refined while trading in one of KZN’s biggest farmer’s markets the Shongweni Farmer’s Market. We have done many events, traded at some markets, but our biggest driver will always be family, good food, and good times.
